Ink 48
So far this summer, I have done anything but relax, but it has been nothing short of amazing. It has been very difficult to keep up with things since I am always so exhausted by the time I actually get home. I have gone on multiple weekend getaways, endless barbeques and parties, and have celebrated more birthdays than I can count – and summer isn’t even half way done yet. I am also lucky enough to have two upcoming adventures planned for August, and I’m counting down the minutes!
Last week I went to one of my favorite rooftop bars on the west side called Ink48. I don’t think you can beat a view of the buildings of Manhattan on one side, and a view of the sunset over the water on the other. Although it was a slightly overcast evening, the view was still breathtaking – and perfect to enjoy with friends while sipping cosmos.
My First Macaron
I’m a little embarrassed to say this, as I am clearly obsessed with sweets… but a few days ago I had my first ever macaron. They just opened a Macaron Cafe a block away from my job – this may end up being very dangerous for me! I have never had any desire to try one, and now I’m completely addicted. A work friend dragged me over to the newly opened cafe and I was floored by the amount of flavors they had. I decided for my first time, I shouldn’t go too crazy and should stick with a flavor palate I knew I would like. I tried one chocolate, and one white chocolate. They were a completely different texture than what I was expecting, and Oh. My. Goodness! So good! I had to take some to go… next time I’m definitely going to try out some bolder flavors. I have a feeling that I am going to be a frequent lunch-time visitor of this place.

Turtles in Central Park
Central Park is one of my favorite places in the city. It has so much to offer and it always amazes me how it is such a relaxing place surrounded by a city that is filled with madness. I find that every time I go there I discover a new place that I never knew about. Over the weekend I took a little walk over to the park to sit in the sun. After sitting in the Great Lawn for a few hours I decided to wander around to look at Belvedere Castle a little closer. The castle I had seen countless times… But when I went closer I found a dock that lead to Turtle Pond. How had I never seen this before? I looked down and there were little baby turtles swimming everywhere! Ever since Barbados I have a new love for turtles. This was such a nice secluded and relaxing spot. I can’t wait to visit them again.
The City is Spring-ing
There is something amazing about Spring in New York. Maybe it’s that no matter how much of a concrete jungle it is, there is still nature around every bend. Every year they line the streets with gorgeous bright-colored flowers that can’t help but put a smile on your face. I found myself wandering today enjoying the streets of Manhattan, the blooming trees, and the colorful flowers at every corner.
